Multi-function hall, Bad Fallingbostel

SPORTSLINE I offers more than just ball impact safety – Sporty multitalent

Following its renovation, the Heidmark hall in Bad Fallingbostel is now ideal for staging pop concerts as well as comedy and live broadcasts. A use of versatile pinta SPORTSLINE I elements on the ceiling and walls has notably improved acoustics, ball impact safety and fire protection.

Renovation was meant, in particular, to get rid of the inadequate sound absorption facilities at the 30-year old multi-function hall. For this purpose, architect Alfred Leskien quickly found a solution, one which he had already implemented in a previous construction project: Foam absorber elements in the form of prism mats. However, the district fire protection engineer was not happy with this. The degree of fire protection he had specified for the municipal hall was higher than the mats', which were in building material class B1.

Stable and non-combustible
The right solution was ultimately found in cooperation with pinta acoustic: pinta SPORTSLINE I. This permitted architect Leskien to perfectly blend fire protection with sound insulation.
Developed by pinta for use in sports and multi-function halls, the galvanized, powder-coated, expanded-metal panels provide protection against ball impact in accordance with DIN 18 032.
Because these elements are made of sheet steel and the profiles for the cross-connections and edge-connections are galvanized, they also fulfill the requirements of building material class A2 (non-combustible) according to DIN 4102.
35-mm thick, sound-absorbing, pinta FM cassette elements are inlaid loosely in the pinta SPORTSLINE I ceiling.
The combination of expanded-metal and foam elements achieves excellent sound absorption values over a wide frequency range.
All in all, pinta SPORTSLINE I perfectly fulfills the three criteria comprising building material class (A2), ball impact safety and high acoustic efficiency.
