Fixed dimensions and ceiling surfaces limited by girders posed familiar problems to the architects and consultants responsible for renovating the Ibbenbüren-Riesenbeck Savings Bank branch. Another requirement was to create distinct zones by means of different ceiling materials. Available in a variety of mesh sizes, the pinta EXPANDEDLINE expanded-metal cassettes were installed in a 1250 mm x 1250 mm format and linked together by the pinta TT band grid profile.
To match existent dimensions, the room interstices needed to be partitioned differently along the longitudinal and depth axes. Bands of different widths and designs were installed between the parallel rails.
The band grids running transversely with respect to the direction of development are very discreet. The orthogonal rails running along the depth axis are furnished alternately with lights and translucent glass. A cross-band grid was developed specially for this construction project. Architect Thomas Krekemeyer catered to the acoustic requirements of a bank's client area by integrating black, 5-mm thick, sound-insulating pinta FM cassette inlays compliant with building material class A2 (non-combustible) according to DIN 4102.
