phonestop E

Non-combustible, lightweight and acoustically highly effective: a multitalented product

Wherever a lot of noise and clamour is produced, human beings must be effectively protected against its effects. pinta phonestop E provides well-aimed help: it considerably diminishes the sound level in rooms and buildings. The new acoustic system is based on highly soundabsorbing acoustic panels made of recycled glass. The innovative absorber material was developed by the Fraunhofer Institute for Building Physics (IBP).

The lightweight and at the same time pressure-resistant sound absorber is insensitive to moisture, temperature and acid. It is therefore ideally suited for both indoor and outdoor use. The technology is well qualified for many different fields of application. Cutting the acoustic panels to size is also remarkably easy. The panels can be trimmed with saws used for cutting porous concrete. Commercial drill bits are used
for cutting out circular holes.

Product advantages at a glance

  • universally applicable both in- and outdoors
  • suitable for reducing the reverberation in new buildings as well as later renovation work
  • Building material class A1 (non-combustible to DIN 4102 Part 4, 2000/147/EG)
  • High absorption
  • insusceptible to moisture
  • non-fibrous
  • lightweight and rigid sound absorber
  • can be mounted in any commercially available 24 mm T-grid system

Material

The basic material used for producing these acoustic panels is the expanded glass granulate Liaver. Under the influence of pressure and temperature it is sintered into solid boards. The sintering necks formed during this process ensure the high resistance and the good mechanical properties of this pure mineral building material.
